Yosemite National Park Lodging needs to be booked well in advance. If you haven’t planned far enough ahead you may be able to book a hotel outside, but near the park.
Lodging options inside Yosemite range in price from a few tens of $ per night for a basic tent cabin with nearby bathroom at Curry Village, to several hundred dollars per night for a room at the Ahwahnee. Reservations are highly recommended and may be made up to one year and one day in advance.
The Ahwahnee Hotel
If it fits within your budget, and you plan ahead, The Ahwahnee is an experience not to be missed. Ideally located, this 4-star property is close to Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, Nevada and Vernal Falls and Glacier Point. Yosemite Village is within walking distance. There is an outdoor pool and ski-in/ski-out access. A restaurant and a bar/lounge, gift shops, newsstand and expansive lobby with fireplace and complimentary guest parking are on site. This historic lodge has modern amenities including air-conditioned rooms equipped with coffee/tea makers, bathrobes, flat screen TVs and daily housekeeping.
Yosemite Lodge at the Falls
Another option in Yosemite Valley, Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is closer to Yosemite Falls and El Capitan and a short walk from the Merced River. Like the Ahwahnee, Yosemite Lodge has a seasonal swimming pool and ski-in/ski-out access.
Three restaurants, a coffee shop/café and a bar/lounge will keep you from going hungry. Less historic, newer and larger, you may find it easier and somewhat more affordable to book lodging at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls. All the amenities you’d expect are available including air-conditioning, hair dryers, complimentary parking and in-room wireless high-speed internet access, direct-dial phones, premium cable channels and daily housekeeping.
Tent cabins at Curry Village have a wooden frame, floor and door. Walls and roof are canvas. They are equipped with cot style beds and an electric light. Most are not heated. Curry Village, also known as Camp Curry, offers comfortable, inexpensive lodging in the shadow of Clacier Point and Half Dome.
If you like to camp in Yosemite Valley but would like a little more privacy and a little less hassle then Housekeeping Camp has the accommodations you’re looking for. Right next to the Merced River, below Glacier Point and across the valley from Yosemite Falls and El Capitan. Your canvas room opens to a furnished patio where you just might have a view of Half Dome.
Shared bathrooms, laundry facilities, picnic area and grocery/convience store are the main amenities. Complimentary access to an area shuttle is provided.
Outside Yosmite Valley, but inside the park — south toward Mariposa Grove, Wawona Hotel is yet another option for lodging in Yosemite National Park. Nearby are the Pioneer Yosemite History Center, the South Gate Entrace and Mariposa Grove of Giant Redwoods.
The Wawona Hotel is unique in Yosemite NP in that in addition to a seasonal outdoor pool it has a golf course. This Victorian hotel provides a complimentary breakfast, has a restaurant and bar/lounge and wireless Internet in public areas. You will probably be sharing a bathroom though bathrobes are typically provided. Rooms are typically spartan with a clock radio the only electronics provided. Housekeeping is daily.
Outside the Park
Yosemite area lodging options include many comfortable hotels a short distance from the park in Oakhurst, Maripose, El Portal, Chowchilla and Buck Meadows.
